The first thing you look at when you enter a warehouse or go into a yard should not be the quantity, but the condition. The state of the pile is the most direct carrier of information about a batch of metal material, and what it tells you is more reliable than anything the scrap producer says. The logic of this judgement is something that has only been really well thought out after years of running the plant.
